1. Terms of Service
1.1 Agreement
By using TinySite, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're using TinySite on behalf of a company, you're agreeing to these terms for that company. These Terms of Service incorporate our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy below.
1.2 Service Description
TinySite provides online software that helps UK limited companies:
- Create a website from their Companies House record and the information they give us, and edit it
- Register a domain name in the company's name
- Host the website on that domain, with HTTPS
- Forward email sent to addresses at that domain to an inbox they already have
You sign in with your TinyTax account. Building and previewing a site is free; you pay when you launch it on a domain.
1.3 Eligibility
To use TinySite, you must:
- Be authorised to act on behalf of the company the website and domain are for
- Have a TinyTax account
- Give accurate registrant details for the domain (registries require a real contact)
1.4 Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Everything published on your website, including its accuracy and that you have the right to use any text, images and logos you add
- Making sure your website meets the laws that apply to your business, including the trading disclosures we add to the footer by default
- Keeping your registrant details up to date
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- Handling enquiries you receive through your website's contact form lawfully (see 2.6)
1.5 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use your website, domain or email forwarding:
- For any unlawful purpose or fraudulent activity, including phishing or impersonating another business
- To publish content that is defamatory, infringes anyone's intellectual property, or is otherwise unlawful
- To send or relay spam
You also agree not to attempt to access other users' accounts or data, reverse engineer the service, or use automated systems to extract data from it. We may suspend a website, domain or forwarding address that breaks these rules, and will tell you why.
1.6 Payment Terms
Launching a website is an annual subscription with two parts: website hosting (currently £96.00 a year) and the domain (priced when you search for it). All prices are exclusive of VAT. VAT at the prevailing rate will be added at checkout. Payments are taken by card through Stripe and renew automatically each year until you cancel.
Your domain: the domain is registered in your company's name, with WHOIS privacy where the registry allows it. If you'd like to move it to another registrar, contact us and we'll provide what you need to transfer it.
Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your website stays live and your domain stays registered until the end of the year you've paid for. After that the website is taken down and the domain isn't renewed by us.
Refunds: if we can't register the domain you paid for (for example, someone else registers it first), we refund you in full automatically. Otherwise, subscription fees are non-refundable: TinySite is a digital service, and domain registrations are paid to the registry as soon as they're made. Refunds may be issued at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances. To request a review, contact us at [email protected].
1.7 Self-Serve Subscription Terms
TinySite is a self-serve subscription product. We do not enter into bespoke contracts, master services agreements, amended terms, or third-party non-disclosure agreements. Confidentiality and data processing obligations are set out in these Terms.
1.8 Domain Registration
Domains are registered through our registrar partner, NameSilo, and are also subject to the rules of the registry for each ending (Nominet for .uk and .co.uk; Verisign for .com). By launching a site you agree to those registration terms, and to us registering, renewing and managing the domain on your behalf while your subscription is active.
2. Privacy Policy
2.1 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, or ask TinyTax to share with us when you sign in, including:
- Company information from your TinyTax account (name, number, registered office, incorporation date, nature of business)
- Director names, only if you choose to show a team section
- Contact information (your name and email address)
- What you tell us about your business, and the text, images and logos you add to your website
- Domain registrant details (name, company, email, phone and address)
- Billing records from Stripe (we never see or store your card details)
2.2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services, including writing a first draft of your website
- Register, renew and manage your domain, host your website and forward your email
- Send you technical notices and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Comply with legal obligations
2.3 Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only:
- With domain registries and our registrar, to register your domain in your name. Registries may publish some registrant details in their public WHOIS records; we use WHOIS privacy wherever it is available.
- With our sub-processors — service providers we engage to deliver the service: OVHcloud (application hosting, France), Cloudflare (website hosting, DNS and email forwarding, global), Stripe (payments), NameSilo (domain registration, USA), and Anthropic or OpenAI (writing a first draft of your website copy from what you tell us, and screening contact form messages for spam, USA). Each is bound by written terms protecting your data.
- With TinyTax, which is operated by the same company, to sign you in and fetch your company's details.
- With your consent or at your direction.
- To comply with legal obligations or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
2.4 Retention
We retain your data for the periods set out below. After the relevant period, data is deleted or anonymised. We retain longer where required by law.
| Data type | Retention period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Website content and previews | Until you ask us to delete them or close your account | To provide the service |
| Domain registrant details | With your account and billing records | Registry requirements and dispute resolution |
| Contact form messages sent to your website | 30 days | Delivery retries and spam protection |
| Account and billing records | 7 years from account closure | Companies Act 2006 / VAT record-keeping |
| Support correspondence | 3 years from resolution | Service quality and dispute resolution |
| Server and audit logs | 90 days | Security monitoring and operational diagnostics |
Messages sent through your website's contact form are emailed to you, and we keep a copy for 30 days so we can retry delivery and stop spam. They are then deleted automatically.
2.5 Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will acknowledge your request within 5 working days and delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, apart from records we must keep by law. Deleting your account takes your website down; if you want to keep your domain, ask us to help you transfer it first.
2.6 Data We Process for You
When people use the contact form on your website, your company is the controller of their personal data and we process it on your behalf, only to screen it for spam and deliver it to you. We keep it confidential, protect it with appropriate security measures, use only the sub-processors listed above, help you respond to requests from the people concerned, and delete it after 30 days. Every TinySite website includes a privacy notice explaining this to visitors.
2.7 Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), access controls, and monitored production hosting.
4. Data Protection Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements (see 2.4 and 2.5)
- Restriction: request that we limit processing of your data
- Portability: request your data in a portable format
- Objection: object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact [email protected].
4.1 Lawful Basis for Processing
- Contract: processing necessary to provide our services to you
- Legal obligation: processing necessary to comply with the law, including record-keeping and registry rules
- Legitimate interests: processing necessary for our business operations, including service improvement and fraud prevention (where this does not override your rights and freedoms)
- Consent: for showing director names on your website, withdrawable at any time
4.2 International Transfers
The TinySite application is hosted by OVHcloud in France. Transfers to France rely on the UK adequacy regulations covering EEA countries. Where we use sub-processors located outside the UK and EEA (such as the US-based providers listed in 2.3), transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another approved transfer mechanism.
